DESPERATELY. STUPID POST LUNCH SLUMP.
So I haven’t posted anything that isn’t a nonsensical photo or some weird YouTube video for a while now, so maybe someone out there who reads my Tumblr (someone, anyone!) might be wondering what I’ve been up to.
I’ve completed the second year of my education in this course; I’ve pushed my cumulative GPA up to a decent number that I’m satisfied with so far; I’ve finished projects I never thought I’d finish, homework I never thought I’d turn in, so on and so forth.
I also went on a very relaxing holiday to Tianjin, a two-week stay at my parents’ with Yong Hao. For the two weeks, we witnessed quite a bit of snowfall - extremely beautiful even in a badly-polluted place like China. Temperatures fluctuated considerably, sometimes as high as 10ºC, or as low as -6ºC. Also visited Beijing for a weekend, revisited Great Wall of China, went walking around Wangfujing hunting for food, spent a day at 798 Art Zone, which was filled with galleries, exhibitions, bistros, bookstores and cafés.
And now, I’ve just started internship at a small but very warm and cozy company in MacPherson, where I’m working as a production assistant. My supervisor and colleagues are rather friendly and helpful, and I’m working, full steam ahead, so I guess I’ll be really really busy for the next five months? I think for the next few months till June all my weekends and public holidays will be occupied with 12 hours of on-set work. Will I eventually die of exhaustion? Only time will tell.
I’ve got technological woes too, what with a dead hard drive, a weak laptop battery, broken key on my keyboard, near-non-functioning lock for my iPod nano and a phone whose message folder is about to suffer from an epic asploshunz. I’m sure me and my fellas can soldier on, until I have enough time and money to get them all fixed. Please, guys, just hang on!
In other news, I’ve pretty much completed Pokémon FireRed with a hell load of help from Yong Hao >< I did the minor stuff, he did the capturing of Mewtwo and battling of Elite Four.
As for The Sims 2, not a lot of progress. After downloading HP’s Megahood like some months ago, I’m still cleaning up the looks department of my residents. Away with the fugly default Maxian Fashion! I also went a bit crazy with the massive downloading so I’m starting to reorganise and micromanage my now close to 10GB of downloads, preening and pruning away at tens of thousands of files. Hopefully I’ll get them as well-organised as possible, and to bring down my file count. But everyone in the Sims 2 community (GoSlings, I’m looking at you all) make such great stuff, it would be great pity not to put them all in my game! : /
And, drumroll please, today is… MY DEAR YONG HAO’S BIRTHDAY! Well actually it was like 2 hours ago, but then I only got home and got to post here now… so anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR! It’s been a phenomenal six months, been through sunshine and storm, and to this day I have never met someone so willing to live his life almost around me, take care of my every need, listen to everything I’ve got to say (even if they’re illogical or unreasonable) and made me realise so much about myself (good and bad) that I never ever knew, and people around me probably knew but somehow cared for my feelings way too much and decide not to tell me. I just want to say a big fat cuddly THANK YOU for all that you’ve done, and I hope that for many, many, many years and decades to come, even when our hair turns grey and we become old and wrinkly and really spotty, we’re still by each other’s side, still holding each other’s hands, still smiling (or frowning like Mike Wazowski) and letting out intermittent squeaks like we always do. Happy 21st baby! <3
